Coated paper

Coated paper, also known as couché, glazed, or stucco paper, is a product that has been coated by a compound or polymer that imparts certain qualities to the paper including weight, surface gloss, smoothness or reduced ink absorbency. Generally kaolin or calcium carbonate is used to give the paper the high printing quality that is widely used in graphic arts, the printing industry and packaging. This type of paper cannot be used with inkjet printers because the ink would not bond and would take a long time to oxidate.
